The Division Resurgence is the third AAA shooter with a mobile version either announced or launched in the past four months. The game will feature solo and cooperative PvE play, both story-based missions and open-world encounters. ![]() “Collect & upgrade tons of gears & weapons,” it says, and players can choose a character specialization, and switch it, through their campaign. The trailer says Resurgence will see the same gameplay staples for which the first two console games were known. “We feel very lucky that the mobile market has evolved to the point where we can develop such an ambitious game.” “Our objective in bringing the Division universe to mobile is to enable more people worldwide to enjoy this open world experience whenever and wherever they want,” the statement said. The Sweden-based studio is also working on an untitled Star Wars game.Ī “team manifesto” posted Tuesday did not mention which studio is developing The Division Resurgence. Massive is currently at work on Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, an adaptation of James Cameron’s 2009 sci-fi movie Avatar. All were developed by Massive Entertainment. A premium expansion for The Division 2 took players back to New York for a new set of story missions. in the summer following the events of the first game. ![]() Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 moved the series to Washington, D.C. The series, the newest in Ubisoft’s 20-year-old stable of Tom Clancy franchises, began in 2016 with The Division, in which a fictional homeland security agency fights to restore order to a New York City ravaged by a deadly and fast-spreading pandemic. Heartland is still in development and has no launch date, though it is expected by the end of Ubisoft’s next fiscal year, in March 2023. Respectfully to those working on them, I hope both Ubisoft/Bungie both unsuccessfully get this 'game-mode as new game' fad out of their sys so they can go back to improving/creating a new core entry.Ubisoft first mentioned The Division would come to mobile platforms back in 2021 when it announced The Division Heartland, a free-to-play game for consoles and PC. The random new DLC for 2 would certainly make you think that's the case.ĭon't get me wrong, I enjoy the game/series as it's my back-up to Destiny, but I actually wish there were a bit more skill/progression/aspiration that those SHD levels meant something. I'm really curious if now that SW/Avatar stuff is coming together if more Massive folk are being put back on Division (projects). ![]() I may have just put 'enough' time into it and wrung everything out of it long-ago, as this is perspective of someone that kept current over four years. I still enjoy it (often w/ a podcast), and have occ run a new character through WoNY to get their skill point mats etc, but it's a little mindless, esp once you have a decent build, which really doesn't take long. The thing I love about this franchise is that the Game forces you to get better to progress. As a beta/day 1 player (that goes back when there is content), I've actually found it to be exactly the opposite I find it extremely flat, barring some extremely 'cheap' enemy mechanics.
